My Motivations:

I started the "persuasion" blog for 2 reasons:

(1) Avinash and Gary inspired me. Although, I'm yet to meet Avinash in person, I continue to get motivated (and amazed) by the contributions he has made from his writings, teachings, and learnings. His influence drove me to surface some of my own learnings, research, and perspectives. I know Gary professionally. I find him to be extremely bright and practical in his approach. He pushed me to get this out. (Gary, we made it finally!).

(2) I was in the cusp of getting usurped by monotony. It prompted me to look for an outlet to share my knowledge. The knowledge and learnings I have gathered over the years while working independently as well as with firms like Gerson and Lehrman Group, Ogilvy and Mather, Adobe, and ZAAZ.

About Me:

I work at  Oppenheimer Funds, Inc. In my role I am a digital marketing evangelist and analytics practitioner. I am passionate about what I do everyday and and  am incredibly thankful for the opportunites I have received.

Generally speaking my carrer arc began in a specific niche category - Products in Web Analytics (Web Analytics was an unknown field when I began my career). From there I moved on to generalist areas like Digital Strategy/Products, Marketing Strategy, and Econometric Modeling. It's almost opposite to what most people do in their careers. However,  for me, these transistions were incredible as they were the triggers I needed to continue my learning and development.

Some of the folks who stand out are Anil Batra an incredibly savy Digital Analytics professional. Dimitri Maex, Sean McDonald, and Jorge Ruiz from Ogilvy, Jim Dravillas from Google, Jason Burby from ZAAZ, and last but not least Warren Raisch from  Digitaria. I remain eternally grateful to them; for their incredible support and help over the years.

I hope you will find the "persuasion's" relevant and valuable.

Happy Learning! Happy Sharing! Happy Living!
